Songs for the Family – Part 2
One weekend last July was one of those rare times when all six of our children and their families were with us at home. As I thought about us all being together in the months leading up to it, I decided to do a private, backyard concert of original songs So I wrote two songs to Sharlene, one to the kids, one to little Titus, and one to the Lord. I set up on the deck and put out outdoor chairs enough for everyone.
I used to consider music and musical talents to be for public use. But I’ve grown to value them for private purposes. In the social media era, it’s so easy to share everything publicly, but there’s something satisfying about keeping some things private. That’s what I did with these songs, until now. I’m posting one song each week, this being week number two of six. I hope you enjoy a peek into our little backyard concert, and that these songs will somehow be a blessing to you.
Sharlene
After thirty-two years of marriage, I finally wrote Sharlene a song. This isn’t it. I’ll post that one next week. But after I wrote that one, I guess my mind relaxed and this one kinda formed. It’s just a fun song. Next week’s is a serious love song. This one’s a rock song about my rockin’ wife. Sharlene. You rock, baby! I hope y’all enjoy it! God’s blessings!
Gabe you’re a riot. Loved the song and seeing/ hearing you be playful your lady wife, Queen Sharlene!
Love your spunk…. What a wonderful family!
Had no idea you are so talented!!
Loved it ♥️
That was awesome! I love how you cherish her! You two have always been so inspiring for young couples like Willis and I when we got married! You continue to model what a strong Christian marriage should be! We love you two so much! We have always loved your sweet family! Praying for continued blessing on your marriage and family!
Sterling and I enjoyed this So So much. We didn’t know Pastor Gabe was so talented on the piano. ? ?
I absolutely love how you two love each other. It’s refreshing. Your song is perfect! Can you teach your cousin to write songs? I would love to have my hubby sing to me like this! May God continue to bless y’all.?
