The Tito Song

Songs for the family – Part 5

One weekend last July was one of those rare times when all six of our children and their families were with us at home. As I thought about us all being together in the months leading up to it, I decided to do a private, backyard concert of original songs So I wrote two songs to Sharlene, one to the kids, one to little Titus, and one to the Lord. I set up on the deck and put out outdoor chairs enough for everyone.

I used to consider music and musical talents to be for public use. But I’ve grown to value them for private purposes. In the social media era, it’s so easy to share everything publicly, but there’s something satisfying about keeping some things private. That’s what I did with these songs, until now. I’m posting one song each week, this being week number five of six. I hope you enjoy a peek into our little backyard concert, and that these songs will somehow be a blessing to you.

The Tito Song

This is a little jingle I wrote to Titus. His parents were educational missionaries in Mexico until he was almost two. In Spanish, Titus is Tito. I originally sang this song to him on video chat and opened up my mini concert with it last July. I love being GPop! (and Sharlene loves being Lolli)  Like so many grandparents told us before we were such, grand-kids add a new level of joy to your life. So very much our case!

  1. That is so sweet. When he is older he will cherish this his whole life. Maybe he will follow in GPops footsteps and be a singer too. I still remember you and Dolores coming to White Oak and singing when we where little kids.
